Dua: For You alone

Nice Dua I found last night in Mawlaanaa Ashraf Ali Thanawi's 'The Accepted Whispers' (Khalid Baig's translation, page 111):

(1) O Allah, for You alone is all praise.
(2) For You alone is all gratitude.
(3) Yours alone is the entire dominion.
(4) To You alone belongs the entire creation.
(5) All good is in Your hands alone.
(6) And the disposal of all matters ultimately rests in You alone.
(7) I beg You for all good
(8) And I seek protection in You from all evil.

(1) Allahumma lakal-hamdu kulluh(u),
(2) wa lakash-shukru kulluh(u),
(3) wa lakal-mulku kulluh(u),
(4) wa lakal-khalqu kulluh(u),
(5) biyadikal-khayru kulluh(u),
(6) wa ilayka yarji3ul-amru kulluh(u),
(7) as-aluka minal-khayri kullih(i),
(8) wa a3oodhu bika minash-sharri kullih(i).

It's referenced in 'The Accepted Whispers' as having been taken from [Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri. Kanz al-'Ummal #22551].

The prayer for guidance

Guide us to the straight path
the Muslim's oft-repeated prayer
leaves no doubt

guidance is not binary
rather
a force to be fuelled

strengthened
in opposing one's self,
in the want to be led.

God guide me

God, I love You and You have no equal.

Nothing more do I want than to find You and You guide the beseecher.

Dua: Allah's Perfect Words

(1) I seek refuge with Allah's Perfect Words
(2) from earning His displeasure,
(3) and from the evil of His slaves,
(4) the promptings of the devils
(5) and from that they come to me.

(1) a3oodhu bi kalimaatillaahi-ttaammati
(2) min ghaDhabihi
(3) wa sharri 3ibaadihi
(4) wa min hamazaati-shayaaTeeni
(5) wa an ya7Dhuroon[i]

God mould me

O God let me not meet You

until You build me ready:

gentle

free from weakness

strong

free from harshness

devout

free from incapability.

Small Du'a packed with all kinds of goodness :)

"allahumma innee as-aluka aS-Si77ata wa-al-3iffata wa-al-amaanata wa 7usna-khulqi wa-ar-riDhaa bi-al-qadar"

Rough translation: O Allah, i ask you for health, chastity/modesty, protection/safety, good manners/character and contentment in the Divine Decree.

Dua Mubaarak

One of two Dua's/supplications I memorised last weekend (9-11 Muharram). Rough attempt at 'tashkeeling' and translating it...

1) Allahumma-qsim lanaa
2) min khashyatika maa ta7oolu bihi bainanaa wa baina ma3aaSiyika
3) wa min Taa3atika maa tubalighunaa bihi jannataka
4) wa mina-al-yaqeeni maa tuhowwinu bihi 3alaynaa maSaa'iba-ad-dunyaa.
5) Allahumma matti3naa bi-asmaa3inaa wa abSaarinaa wa quwwaatinaa maa a7yaytanaa
6) wa-j3alhu-l-waaritha minnaa
7) wa-j3al tha'ranaa 3alaa man Dhalamanaa
8) wa-nSurnaa 3alaa man 3aadaanaa
9) wa laa taj3al muSeebatanaa fee deeninaa
10) wa laa taj3al-id-dunyaa akbara hamminaa wa laa mablagha 3ilminaa
11) wa laa tusalliT 3alaynaa man laa yar7amunaa

1) O Allah, grant us
2) fear of You such what acts as a divider between us and us disobeying You,
3) and grant us obedience to You such what helps us reach Your Paradise,
4) and grant us certainty such what makes easy for us the challenges of this world.
5) O Allah make enjoyable (?) our lives by our hearing, sight and strength/health
6) and make it (our enjoyments/perceptions/strength?) a successor (?) for us (in the next life?)
7) and take revenge/retaliation for us on those who wrong us
8) and help us over those who take us as enemies
9) and do not make our calamity/trial/misfortune/disaster in our religion
10) and do not make this world the largest of our concerns nor the extent/limit of our knowledge
11) and do not put over us in authority those who will not show us mercy.

When observing someone wearing new clothes...

Lots of people wearing new clothes yesterday.
I should have capitalised.

(3) and die a martyr.
